Bruno's The Place for Steaks brings the polished service of a classic steakhouse to the personal atmosphere of a family-run restaurant in Ajijic. We welcome you at the door, help you settle into your table, and look after your evening with attentive, discreet service. Live jazz and performances by Black String bring their own character to selected nights, giving you another reason to gather friends and make dinner plans. A family welcome since 1985

Bruno's The Place for Steaks has been part of Ajijic since 1985. What began as a roadside stand serving prime rib and barbecue ribs grew into a restaurant run by three generations of the same family: Bruno, his daughter Vicki, and now his grandson.

Before opening in Ajijic, Bruno ran a circus-themed restaurant in San Miguel de Allende, complete with fire breathers. He brought that theatrical spirit to Bruno's The Place for Steaks early years. Over time, the circus theme faded, and the restaurant took on the classic steakhouse character it has today.

Vicki later took over, bringing her own personality to the kitchen and dining room. Her son grew up around the restaurant and now runs the business. More than forty years after Bruno began serving his first guests in Ajijic, steaks over mesquite, Prime Rib dinners, and generous plates remain at the center of the menu.
